December 2017 News: 4 tests and a surgery (lumpectomy)

Posted Sunday, December 17, 2017 4 tests and a surgery. Hi curious readers!  Hope this finds you enjoying the lead up to the wonderful holiday season.  What a whirlwind of events- I have lots of news, everyone!  Instead of 4 weddings and a funeral, I have had 4 tests and a surgery! December 1st 2017 I got the results back from two major blood tests. One test, called the Onconomics Plus test, they only do in Europe. It’s massive in scope. It told us that there are eight particular substances to which my particular cancer cells will respond. This is helpful news because until now, I have been taking some 30 to 40 different cancer-killing substances because we did not yet know which my cancer […]

Happy Thanksgiving 2017: Honey, I Shrunk the Tumor!

Posted Thursday, November 23, 2017 “Honey, I Shrunk the Tumor!”Bev’s Thanksgiving Edition   (don’t want to read this? click the video link instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sGZFjTxiUo  ) I have some very hopeful news, everybody! I was in Irvine, California for three days last week –Tuesday and Thursday were travel days!-  and Wednesday was a very full day of medical appointments. I had two blood labs drawn: one was for a very comprehensive cancer response test and the other was a more standard panel of helpful metabolic measurements. Both results will come back in the next several weeks. My integrative doctor changed how my tumor would be handled in order to better work within my budget. (we found out there is an unexpected $8522 hospital fee that wasn’t disclosed, […]

Change in Plans: Going Integrative as of Oct 5 2017

Geez, is it Thursday, October 5th already?! Almost a month has passed.      Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I’m still getting used to checking in on social media.      Well, I’ve got some good news: due to the massive nutritional overhaul I’ve been doing, an mri of my tumor 9/20/17 showed it has reduced in size a little bit! Isn’t that amazing!?      Even more exciting, I’m choosing to do integrative cancer treatment instead of the traditional poison-cut-burn route, aka, chemo-surgery-radiation. And I’m hoping to be able to afford to go to a cancer clinic in Irvine,  California. (If not there, then Mexico is more affordable.)      My first appointment is Monday, October 9, over the phone. I will […]

First Ever Post: Early Thoughts on Treatments, September 2017

When I wrote the below, I didn’t yet know much about integrative oncology as an option.  But I knew enough to start caring for my body’s immune system right away through a total lifestyle overhaul, especially via clean eating, detoxing, and emotional support. You’ll see how I almost went to U of Chicago to do conventional (toxic) treatment.  B. UNBELIEVABLE NEWS  I went in for my standard mammogram in July. As usual for someone with chronically cystic (lumpy) tissue, they needed to ultrasound. I wasn’t alarmed at all – they always ultrasound. Then they wanted to biopsy – no big deal, I’ve had four over the years and the tests always come back negative. I thought “Easy. To biopsy, they aspirate it, it always instantly […]
