Change in Plans: Going Integrative as of Oct 5 2017
October 5, 2017Happy Thanksgiving 2017: Honey, I Shrunk the Tumor!

Bev writes: “I went in for my standard mammogram in July. As usual for someone with chronically cystic (lumpy) tissue, they needed to ultrasound. I wasn’t alarmed at all – they always ultrasound. Then they wanted to biopsy – no big deal, I’ve had four over the years and the tests always come back negative. I thought “Easy. They’ll biopsy and aspirate it. It always deflates instantly, feels better, its always benign and I go home happier.”
“Imagine my surprise when this time, something completely different happened: on 8/24/17, I found out I have stage 2a triple negative breast cancer. It didn’t deflate; it was the size of a pecan in July, the size of a walnut in September, and is still growing.
“The stages of grief started cycling through me. Shock, disbelief, anger, confusion, sadness, acceptance. And yet there is cause for great hope: it hasn’t gotten to the lymph nodes yet and hasn’t metastasized – yes!!”
I know Bev and she would appreciate any kind of support you can give. The amount or kind of support doesn’t matter. Anonymity is fine. If money is not the way you can support her, or you’ve already given (thank you so much!) you can help us by broadening the reach of her campaign and here’s how:
• Share with people who support you and who you support. Particularly those who themselves have huge networks who’d perhaps be willing to post it on your behalf. Perhaps think of those who might have ample means for contributing to charitable causes.
Idea: “Please help my friend___ to help her friend Bev. Go to: http://www.youcaring.com/helpb
• Think of all the people you know who might care: either about Bev herself, about cancer, or any of the things Bev cares about- the arts, theatre, film, animal care, training/coaching, volunteering/activism, or spirituality – all circles wherein Bev moves. You and she might even have had mutual contacts in these areas over the years. Share this story and campaign with them, especially if they in turn would be willing to post it to Twitter or FaceBook or email it to their networks. The six degrees of separation technique! Idea: “Remember Bev Spangler? She is a fellow__ (thespian, animal person, trainer/coach, volunteer/activist, seeker, etc.) and she needs our help. Read more at: http://www.youcaring.com/h
• Alternatively, share this with ANYONE you know on all the social media you participate in. You never know who might be moved by Bev’s predicament or who cares about healthcare costs or cancer.
• Word of mouth. Tell your friends, verbally: “If you want to help, simply go to youcaring.com and type in Bev Spangler. She’s the gal in the orange shirt with the brown dog!
• Print and post the Your Caring Page as a flyer at place of worship.
• Wish list: If you wish to make a more personal contribution, Bev has started a wish list of health-related items, all available on Amazon. Examples: Durherm Far Infrared Portable Sauna, iSpring Reverse Osmosis Alkalizing Remineralization Water Filtration System
