Happy Early Autumn 2018!
October 30, 2018Good News and Challenging News, Aug 2019
August 16, 2019Happy February 2019, month of love!
So, am I behind on health news? Yes, a bit. Do I shy away from social media? Yes, as I’m a social media chicken. But am I here now at last? Yes!
To keep it short and sweet for the moment, here are some quick, happy, important messages about my health journey:
- My cancer numbers have gone down again! I found out Wed Feb 20 2019 that my circulating cancer stem cells and tumor cells have dropped again, from 3.4 to 3.0. Is this good? YES! In June 2018 I was at 3.4 and in December 2017 was at 4.0. To give you context: the closer I get to 2.0 or lower, the more likely I am to achieve and maintain remission! In other words, my integrative oncology treatments continue to work! Whew! This means that as long as I continue with my cancer healing protocols, I’m in the final winning stretch. Hallelujah!
- I’ve just started what is hopefully my last treatment therapy, so that 6-8 months from now, I can and will consider myself in remission, at least from triple negative breast cancer. And hopefully I’ll be preventing the possibility of getting ovarian or uterine cancer too. (Memory jogger: I have the genetic mutation BRCA1 which puts me at higher risk for those cancers too, especially if living an unhealthy lifestyle. Which I no longer do, yay!)
- Save the dates for 2 upcoming fundraisers to keep me going til the finish line! One is perfect for kids up to age 12 and for the parents, grandparents, godparents, nannies, aunts, or uncles looking for a great and unique kids’ outing, a good time and a good cause! The other is an evening of comedy with some of Chicago’s great talent! Put these dates in your calendars / datebooks now! Get your tickets before they sell out – the capacity of the venue is 60-70 people max.
